Honestly, my first thought vs. this villain was, "i should open jam."
Since being at the table i watched him call AIP with 64ss, jam A5o, and back-raise call AIP with 66 250bbs deep. Here, we're effectively 357bbs deep.
1 fold, villain raises to $3, 1 fold, thegame2006 calls $3, 2 folds, Hero raises to $12, villain raises to $40, 1 fold, Hero calls $28
I opted to take a flop with the plan of 'never folding'. lol.
Whether i check raise a ton of flops AI, or just let him barrel with overs out etc.
Flop: ($84.90) 3 5 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, villain bets $105.50, Hero raises to $495.44 all in, villain calls $211.60 all in
i could've just opted to let him barrel, especially with the overbet, but after witnessing his propensity to put all the money in the middle, i just shipped. meh. i guess i could've flatted to keep in his bluffs.. but i just wanted to get the money before his cat jumps on the keyboard or a power outtage. He calls so wide (all his draws, A/K/Qhi's, and all better). this time he had a monster for his range.
Turn: ($719.10) T
River: ($719.10) 6
Final Pot: $719.10
villain mucks 8 8
Hero shows J J (two pair, Jacks and Fives)
Hero wins $716.30
bored, watching the boston/6'ers game, i did a range analysis of what i think his calling range was. all of which i think are in his utg raise/ re-raise range. pretty sure villain was stuck around 4k at the hundo-deep game in two days.
